Republican governor Chris Chrisite is projected to win a
second term in the race for governor in the state of New Jersey on Tuesday,
November 05, 2013. This is his last term he can run for as he is only allowed
to run for two terms by law. Chris Chrisite’s popularity grew exponentially
after Hurricane Sandy destroyed the New Jersey shore. Christie is also known
for his stands against legalizing gay marriage and against raising the minimum
wage. Could Christie, who has gained lots of popularity especially in a
Democratic state, be a possible candidate for the GOP? He could possibly gain
more popularity within the party to run for the presidential election in 2016.
I think that Chris Chriite's popularity has definitely risen as he contains many of the traits that people are like about both the Democratic and Republican parties. While he may be stepping on the toes of people from the far left or right, he is ultimately earning the vote from the majority of the people who are in the middle. Not only does he get positive attention in this way, but he has also gotten a lot of attention through the effectiveness in which he took care of the Jersey Shore. With that being said, I agree that he could possibly be in the running for a competitive spot in the 2016 election.
