Christie advertising himself for another term

Christie advertising for 2nd term.

New Jersey Republican Governor Chris Christie announced last week that he will be running for a second term for his position. The popular governor is known for his "aggressive style" that he ran New Jersey last year. He is very popular with people for his strong willed and determined attitude, which has brought him to the nation's attention. But, his run for the second term has been viewed with criticism as he is possibly running for President in 2016, which means he would not be able to finish up his term as Governor. He has been endorsed by many on both sides Democrat and Republican. This makes him a very interesting candidate because he can make relations for both parties.  He uses his image highly= for "advertising purposes" to help him catapult into winning this second term. This is an example of how politicians use their name and image to show the people that they are a familiar face on the ballot which hopefully will get the nominee a vote. In Chris Christie's case it will be interesting to see if it will help him through this election even though he is looking at another election that would hurt the end of his election as Governor.

  1. I completely agree with you! Christie is one of the few politicians that have a lot of support from both parties! With a politician like Christie he would be very tough to beat in 2016 for president! Like we talked about in class his name is very well known and him being a huge help for his state during the tragic event of Hurricane Sandy made him even more well known! We will just have to wait and see if he will actually run for president in 2016! The issue is will he hurt his race by leaving midterm as Governor?

  2. Governor Christie is well known, but some of the Republicans are not as thrilled with Christie. He did receive a lot of federal help for his state after Hurricane Sandy, but some politicians thought that he helped President Obama during the last election. It does seem disingenuous to run for Governor when you plan to run for President, but governors often run for the presidency. I do not think Christie will have any problem getting elected for a second term as Governor.
