Obama Administration warned about Problems with Healthcare Website

A CNN report on Tuesday, October 29, reported that the Obama administration was indeed given warnings that the new Healthcare.gov website would not be ready for the October 1 launch date. The website contractor CGI said that the website had many open risks and issues. On October 1, the new Affordable Care Act, or more commonly known as Obamacare, went into effect. Many problems surfaced quickly after launch and the most notable problem being the website.  The issues with the website have still not been resolved. Cheryl Campbell, a Senior Vice President for CGI told the Obama Administration on October 25 that "no one ever gets enough time for testing." If the Obama Administration was informed of these problems, why did they choose to launch it anyway?

  1. They should have waited to launch the website if they knew it wasn't ready. The technical glitches are delaying potential customers who have to wait and are often unsuccessful at getting through the system despite their multiple attempts. The glitches continue, the most recent occurring Sunday when the data center shut down. Maybe waiting to launch Obamacare was a good idea after all.
