A recent fox
News article states that house Democratic Leader- Steny Hoyer admits that
Obamacare should have been “more precise” in acknowledging the risk that some
Americans would lose their current insurance plans. He admitted this after a
document from 2010 surfaced. That document predicted millions might be dropped
by their providers, which explains why thousands of Americans have been getting
letters, notifying them that their insurance plan has been cancelled. Hoyer
goes on to say that officials knew some of the health plans would not qualify
under the recent Obamacare regualtions. “The overall message to the public was
accurate- just not precise enough” (Hoyer).
Like the article
said, this gives a whole new meaning to Nancy Pelosi’s remark in which she said,
"we have to pass the bill so that you can find
out what is in it." If a plan does not meet the requirements of
Obamacare, the people are kicked off their plan and forced onto another. These
plans tend to be more expensive and cover things that certain people do not
need to worry about. For instance, I don’t think an 80 year old needs to have
pregnancy coverage. The people should be able to be on the plans they chose for
them, I’m sure they chose it for a reason. If they wanted more coverage then
they would have gone with it in the first place. In 2009, President Obama said,
"If you like your health care plan, you'll be able to keep your health
care plan, period. No one will take it away, no matter what." I hate
to address the elephant in the room, but this is certainly not the case.

I would like to say the obvious " President Obama lied to all Americans when he said that you could keep your health plan". It makes the Republicans look good that they wanted to delay Obamacare for a while. Nancy Pelosi is ridiculous for saying that we should pass it to find out what is in it. The Democrats pushed the plan through the House close to Christmas, before the new Congress came in. It was irrational to pass a bill before reading it. That should be illegal. I do not want a House Representative for my state passing any bill before reading it !!!
